As banana cultivation is a primary source of living for many farmers of Kailali, we organized a 3-day training on commercial banana farming.
“I learned about the types of bananas, soil management and procedure of manure preparation and much more from this training. I’m optimistic that now my production will increase,” shared Yasodha (32), one of the 25 training participants.
“I’ve been doing this business since last year, after Caritas supported me with a loan support of 25,000 rupees through the Shree Samikchaya Women Development Multipurpose Cooperative. I learned about the types of bananas, soil management and procedure of manure preparation and much more from this training. I’m optimistic that now my production will increase. I’m planning to expand my business and CN is again supporting me with the loan support of 60,000 rupees”, shared Yasodha Devi Chaudhary, (32), participant of the training.
Within the framework of our Nepal Livelihood Resilience Program (NLRP) funded by Caritas Australia we have improved livelihood opportunities of smallholder farmers united within 32 cooperatives.
