Project            : Ensuring Safe Migration and Promoting Sustainable Local Reintegration (ESMPSLR) Phase-II

Location         : Kankai Municipality, Jhapa

Reporting To : Sr. Project Officer, Caritas Nepal

Working Station : Kankai Municipality Office

1. Job Summary

The Social Mobilizer will be primarily responsible for the direct implementation of project activities at the ward and community levels within Kanakai Municipality. This role involves regular field visits, data collection, community engagement, awareness-raising on safe migration practices, and providing direct support to potential and returnee migrants and their families. The Social Mobilizer will work closely with local government representatives and community groups to ensure effective project delivery and sustainable outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Completion of intermediate level (+2) in any discipline.
  •  

Skill and Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in community work, volunteering, or social mobilization.
  • Willingness to learn and work with communities.
  • Basic knowledge on migration, reintegration and financial literacy.
  • Ability to travel on foot and by local transport in rural areas.

Languages: Good communication skills in Nepali and Basic skill in English and local languages.

Core competency:

  • Familiarity with local contexts, customs, and cultures of mix-community is preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong Community mobilization skills
  • Strong rapport building skills with local stake holders
  • Takes initiatives;
  • Acts as a team player and facilitates teamwork

Additional Preferences:

  • Valid motorcycle license and driving skills is preferred.
